Digital technology has the potential to enhance the study and practice of all disciplines within art and design. The College views computing as an essential tool and promotes the digital literacy of all students.
The College highly recommends that all students purchase a computer to assist in their studies. Whether or not a discipline of study is driven by technology, students will benefit greatly from having continuous access to computing to support research, communication and studio practice.
Certain programs of study (Graphic Design & Architecture) require the ownership of a portable computer upon entry into the major, typically in a student's second year, to transparently integrate study across the studio, classroom, workshop, and home. More information about this requirement can be viewed in the Laptop Program section.
